Menorca is the second largest of the Menorca Islands and is smaller and quieter than neighbouring Mallorca which is just 34 km away.Menorca has a large number of family friendly resorts and almost as many beaches as Mallorca and Ibiza combined. Quiet holiday resorts can be found the south coast of Menorca and picturesque fishing villages can be found on the rocky northern shore.Because it has been protected from development Menorca is a great place for nature-lovers.  The oldest and largest towns in Menorca are Mahon which is the walled capital of Menorca situated at the end of an enormous natural harbour, and Ciutadella which is Menorca's ancient capital at the opposite end of the island.
